Default 4age wont start, was running, possible wiring issue

    Car - KE70 4age

motor / part in question - AE82 bigport 4AGE with stock ecu

problem - car wont start, has no spark.

occurs/started when - Thrashed car for a night, put in garage, fitted factory heater hoses to firewall possibly disrupting wiring loom. (car has been rewired recently and ran fine for 5000kms).

Idle was rough, car would drive but sounded like only a few cylinders, had no power and would cough and splutter. Got worse very quickly then wouldnt start at all after removing heater hoses and bypassing back to how it was before. (thought it could have been an issue with hoses on the wrong way)

Thought the issue was very old tired bigport, was leaking oil everywhere and was gutless so new rebuilt bigport motor was fitted to same wiring. Same issue still present.

TESTS RAN: Tested ecu is getting power, ok. Fuel pump is priming and pressure at fuel rail when nut is cracked fuel pisses out. no arcing from plug leads to ground when held against the block. dizzy 3 pin plug was getting 8V then swapped to a different stock ECU as the existing one looked a bit shit inside. Now all 3 dizzy plugs getting 0V to ground with ignition on ECU plugged in and unplugged.

Continuity tested 3 dizzy wires back to ECU pins, continuity OK. Continuity tested ignitor plug to ECU pins, seems ok also.

Earth on body next to engine bay fuse box connected, intake manifold earth connected, chassis rail to block earth connected. ECU is earthed, tested from body to pin on ecu plug x 3 earthing plugs.

Have tried a different coil + ignitor to no avail. Currently have the whole wiring loom unwrapped as thought it could have been a broken wire somewhere. Can we pull fault codes somehow?

Any halp would be great, 4age gurus. Cheers in advance.

Have u connected the main earth wire in the wiring loom to the inlet manifold?

Check for voltage at the following
    Ecu
B pin use the e1 pin as the earth probe
    B+

coil, igniter and injectors have 12v ign power

inspect your dizzy cap for damage too, is there spark out of the main coil but not the leads?

    lead from coil to dizzy

if u have continuity between the dizzy pins, igniter back to the ecu then it is either the earth connector that goes into the manifold or missing voltage.

Ground has been connected to inlet manifold.
    ECU is getting 12V
    Coil and igniter getting 12V

    Will check B and B+

Dizzy cap is fine.. It's not getting any spark at all, but there is continuity between the dizzy pins and igniter to the ECU.

That was me logged in with the facebook account, but it should be pretty simple to fix.

If the loom is good, then its just missing power to something or the ignition components are faulty.

Remove the dizzy and spin the shaft and make sure the rotor button turns too. Seen them where the bearings fail and stop spinning.

Do you have a check engine light wired in? That'd be the next step, and one of the round plugs once u bridge the terminals acts as the diagnostic pin to bridge. On a bigport I can never remember which one it is. TE(1) is the ecu pin which effectively just needs earthing.

For the check engine light a low wattage globe wired to ignition power and the "earth" side of the globe to the W pin on the ecu.

Would the dizzy plug be getting different voltage readings when the motor is being cranked, or should it be a constant 12V?

I have tried 2 different dizzys as well, and they didn't seem to change anything. It must be somewhere in the loom.

Sort of running out of things it could be.. because really, they are a pretty simple set up.
