Default 2T-GTE TA23 Celica. Its not finished yet :(

Hi my names Alex and I own a 1976 Celica.

Bought it while I was at schoolies up on the central coast (NSW) off a 87 year old. It was pretty well kept. Then I did a few bad things and it not so great anymore. But iI'm trying to get her back to a respectable state.

    What's in the works

    Drive line
    261 2TGEU 1.6l
    3TG Forged crank 1.8l
Wiseco 8.7:1 forged 2mm oversized pistons
    Eagle H beam rods
    SS valves
Reground turbo intake/exhaust cams (unsure on spec)
    Double valve springs
    Port and polished
    Garret GT3072r
    Tial 38mn gate + screamer
    1000cc Bosch EV14 injectors
    Modified RX7 series 5 CAS
    LS2 Coils
Carter 8 psi lift pump into 2l surge
    Bosch 044 + Earls 10 micron 175gph filter
    1GGTE flywheel
    W58 supra box
Clutch Industries/RPM HD Brass button clutch
    Hilux diff+trutrac+billet axles
    Custom 3" driveshaft
    Haltech PS1000
    Fuel flex sensor
    Sard rising rate FPR
    Blitz EBC

    Suspension/Brakes:
    XT130 struts
    Hilux LN106 4 pots
    Peugeot 286mm rotors
    MA70 1" master
T3 coil over kit 5.8kg/mm springs
T3 camber tops + strut brace
    Pedders Ryder rear coils
    Gabriel short stroke shocks

    Bodywork(planned):
370z gun metal grey with various blackouts
    Front chin spoiler
    Rear duck tail spoiler
    TA22 Jap spec flat lights
    RA25 GT grill
    Maybe a half cage

Interior will remail close to factory probably a kameari gt bucket seat and nardi wheel.

    Wheels
Currently 16x8 -4 superlites but I'd prefer some ssr meshies 15x8 -4 on the front and 15x10 -13 on the back. If I've got the cash and can find them.

It should make about 300rwKw on E85 and 26psi and run an 11 sec pass pretty easy. I don't really want this as a street/drag car thou I'd like it to handle abit better than the titanic as I love old back roads Ols Putty Rd to Broke being my favourite. Anyway let me know what you guys think.

    Some pics..

Finished off the cooler piping and got the front back together. Its a nice fit, nicer than I expected. Makes for a clean sleeper sort of look from the outside.

Diff in next should be done by next weekend then off to the exhaust shop.

Got a few more things done.

Diff is in with a couple of problems. One of the shock bolts snapped in the mount. As I found out on the other side the threads had been pretty severely rusted so I drilled and tapped out the stud with 1/2" thread. Also found out that the wheel studs were changed to ford 1/2" so I have to order some spline nuts as my the stud holes on the superlites are too small in diameter to fit a 21mm socket.

Also got the coilpacks mounted. Its a pretty crude flat mount I made up But it will do for now. I really want to get an AC/DC tig so I can at least attempt to weld all the aluminium shit but just can't afford it right now.

Managed to get the shifter in. Had to cut the tunnel a further 125mm back as me W58 has the 21.5" shifter position. Covered up the remainder of the hole with some 4mm rubber until it goes in to the beaters then I'll close it up with some metal. Once its on the ground I'll be able to get the exhaust done.

Hi just a little bit of an update.

Got the strut bar in and changed the coils needed ones with an internal igniter rather than buying the $400 haltech module.

Also found some GT badges for the front and rear. Had to make my own clamp.

And finally after months and months of searching I've finally found a decent set of ta22 flatlights. Cost me an arm and a leg though feels like I don't want them on the car just in case something happens.
