Primed the doors and tailgate and fuel lid all panels are now ready to rub. Received my ajps lock spacers yesterday, no matter how stock you are building an e chassis it always needs a lock spacer just for turning circle!
I have a 7in 36g sander which will have the same effect as a slapper disc, the reason i use a grinder disc is because when you sand over a weld it will sand the material on either side of the weld thus making the steel thinner in that area but with a grinder you can focus on grinding just the weld!
picked up the paint today, so far primed the bonnet and guards and bits of the engine bay now onto the rust !!

Even the 86 got a xmas present today, i wasnt happy with the primer on the bonnet (my gun skills are amateur) so i buzed the primer down with 180g and put a thinned down flow coat of primer over which ended up alot smoother which will be easier to rub down!
also when i took the mirror off yesterday i found some interesting brown stuff where the mirror bracket used to be haha

finished all the rust repairs today, put some filler around the weld joins, prepped the shell up and primed it, looks great!

heres some pics of the sealer which seals the panel joins from moisture seeping in, i always like to keep things origional. one thing i did that toyota failed to do was seal the panel under the bottom edge of the windscreen which will suffer from rust when moisture runs down the windscreen (im not sure why it wasnt sealed from factory)
