Put a block of wood in the calliper and hit it with compressed air where the brake line goes. Watch your fingers cos it'll shoot out

Mounted up the front lip, with a bit of a minor mod it fits, all bolted on underneath so it wont be seen
    Looks factory!

rear pods arrived & painted black

Ball joints & tie rod ends arrived too
just need to get a lock spacer & the steering side of things complete

started doing some porting of the head too
Nothing crazy just cleaning up some of the castings

    Lots to update on

When i changed out the tail lights from ADM's to whitelines i noticed there was alot of silicone & gunk sealing the tail lights in, didnt think much of it & the time

Decided to take the tail lights out & scrape down the excessive amount of goo
What did i find? Rust of course
Only surface on the passenger side but still sucks, also it hasnt been painted properly either
Looks like the tail lights been masked up :/

Since i owned the car ive always had the thought in the back of my mind of the bubbling paint near the fuel lid on the arch
Really didnt want to touch it since the bodys pretty straight but i bit the bullet & grinded it away

Discovered a bit more rust, worse then i first thought
I was going to cut it out & weld another piece in but there it is it wouldn't be simple
Used some rust converter & a while later i applied a bit of glass fibre filler
Waiting for it to cure for a while then i'll tackle it

The bays getting very close to being done now
I've combined all the lines & smoothed them out by hand
Painstakingly slow process but it really makes the difference

Last parts of the bottom end arrived
Forged rods with arp bolts - works out there different then the standard one's so i'll have to sell the others (bit of a pain)

    Arp main studs

Also MRP ladder reinforcement caps - was originally going to use tomei's but read good things about these

Assembly started! Took my time with at all & made sure everything went in perfectly & how it should
Yet to be torqued to spec

Thought whilst i was at it might as well assemble the bolt on's too, painted the bolt heads too so it matches up nicely
    Mmmm shinyy

It works out the ACL pistons i bought were bigports - i have a smallport block
At first i couldnt figure out why the rods were so lose on the piston, then i did some reading & found out that bigport pistons have a 18mm wrist pin & smallports 20mm
    Woops!
Luckily the forged rods were smallport sized (20mm - thank god)
Im gonna use the oem smallport pistons now, there in really good shape anyways
found out that becauase of the oil squirters on the block (7 rib) the piston has a slight cut out to allow space when its at bottom dead centre - never knew that
Bit of a shame i couldnt use the new ones though
thought it was strange that the 'bigports' dont have a groove for the circlip on each side of the piston too

Getting the old rods of the pistons was a challenge in itself! Finally fitted up!

The ACL pistons came with new rings too so i used them, only problem was the first ring is a different size between small & bigport
    Whyyy u do dis toyota!
I used all the others & found the one which came out of the engine, they looked fine so once i gave them a clean they went in
Pitty you can't buy rings individually

    Also
    TRD banner + domo
    (yes i know its dirty)
