    Bit of a back story..

I used to own a 2jz soarer which was my first car, bought it dead stock & did a heap of mods. Very clean & had only 128,000kms
    But it was lacking something..
    character.
It wasn't special, i loved it but i felt i couldnt grow with it, learn new things, meet people & better myself so i had to let her go.

Here she was in her final form at AJD

So on a cold winters afternoon i recieved a text about a sprinter for sale locally, it was exactly what i wanted

So this is where my story begins
    the story of the ae86.

Drove her through the hills & went hard, it was better than i ever dreamed of

    Then it went bang

Driving to work one day & it started making unusual noises, didnt think much of it at the time because i thought it might have been a loose wire rubbing or something. One take off from the light & it popped.
    Why hello there conrod!

I was devastated, assuming after the first oil change there was chunks of metal coming out i highly doubt the engines had an 'easy life'.
One too many limiter bashes i think.

So i picked myself up & started searching for a new engine.
Looked awful when i picked it up, covered in grease & had pink cam covers. Was rather cheap so i didnt mind
After a lot of degreasing & a lick of paint, TRD oil cap, TRD leads & a carbon fibre spark plug cover this is what it looked like

This will be the start of the rebuild.

Very nice bud. If you were walking around at the cfs cruise meet point, you had a brief chat with me while I was moving my car.
FYI, unless you already have a wide band O2 sensor, I am not too sure you will gain much information from the apexi unit.

    Nice build, looking good mate

thats what i was thinking too, no wide band
I had it wired up when it was running & it worked okay
was interesting to see what it did

Might use it again later down the track

    Cheers!

Fast forward a few weeks/ months to now

Dismantled the new engine bought some adjustable cam gears
    & gave it a paint

Brides in, Bubble shifter & a nardi

    Bride rear inserts
(Going to get the rear seats & front door trims done in bride by a professional, attempted myself but didnt go to plan

Engine out & bumpers, lights etc
still need to take off the left fender, damn sikaflex stuck to the bottom from the side skirts

Still need to take a few things out along with this hideous home done loom :/
    /

Storage is really building up! Eveything bagged & labeled
zip lock bags are my saviour :p

Bumper & lights are safe away from harm & damage

Complete steering rack + cross member out
    Going to be rebuilt

Gearbox out, so much grease n grime!

Found out it was a Rx7 brake upgrade!
Didnt take much notice prior until i looked at it closely
    all wrinkle painted & fresh

    All new bushes
    superpro

    Ajps rca's 40mm

Pistons look okay but bought new ones + rings for piece of mind

Staying with stock conrods i reckon, considering aftermarket but see what happens
