Hi folks,
Well, I've got some good news. I've finally bought my very own hachi. Oh boy!
Loving the rust in the hatch!
Just a quick background on me:
I am a huge fan of Toyota and I'm even a Toyota Trained Technician (apprenticeship completed through Toyota). I have always dreamed of owning an AE86 after drifting came to town in 2004. I remember spending all my apprentice wages on JDM Option Videos from Autobarn (still got price tags on them and damn they were expensive!) and just studying all the different ways the Japs built hachiroku's.
Cars I've owned:
In the past I have owned a few KE70's, a 4dr R33 Skyline (yeah, I visited the dark side for a while), JZX83 (sold it before it was finished), MS137 Crown (really nice car, but the rear air bags let me down... pun intended). My current daily is an Echo and also bought the wife a ZRE182 Corolla last year, so yeah... the Toyota flag in the garage fly's high. haha
Enough about me, more about my AE86, right?
So the car was imported by Craig at Just JDM Imports at the start of 2015, landed in July 2015. He had it advertised on his website for a while. I contacted him regarding a red hachi he is currently restoring, knowing he had this blue one too. I went to have a look at the red one, but it was a tad too expensive and I decided it was now or never so the blue one deserved a closer look (money talks). So I paid Craig another visit and put the magnifying glass over this blue Levin. After convincing the wife that buying another car was the right thing to do... it was just a matter of getting the car complied and then organising a trailer and tow car to pick it up (from Caboolture).
Detailed information on the car is not available. As far as I'm aware, Craig was importing it for himself and was going to rip it apart to see what it's got.
Okay, here's what I know:

I'll be buying a house soon and that's a pretty time consuming process, so apologies for delayed updates that may occur.
I am however trying to source a Recaro passenger rail (passenger seat is just floating around inside the car right now), maybe in exchange for a drivers rail I have spare.
The car will remain unregistered until we move house and I have room to work on it (single garage blues happening at the moment), but I want to tidy it right up (rust repair & engine bay clean) too.
Thanks for reading.
