    Default Tore's AE86 Ground-up build

Hey,I'm a 18 year old boy from Norway, i'v always wanted a AE86, and now i finally was able to get myself one before the prices go too high...
for the last coupple of years i'v been working on KE20's restored on, painted it with a rally livery and did some mods to it, its now my daily driver and is gettting a 4A-GE bigport this weekend, will be posting in the KE section about it

anywas, here in Europe we only got the 86 Levin... and i want a Trueno one, but i dont want a ADM MAF car either.. so i figured teh best thing to do was to buy a Euro-spec AE86 and swap the front end for a Levin one and get a JDM bumper for it...
anyways, here in Norway we did not even get the AE86, we got a coupple but they were all for rally use, so i had to go abroad to get one. I finaly found a decent project in Danmark, so i went down and picked it up.. Got new doors, hatch and hood, 1 AE92 kouki redtop 4A-GE and a AE111 4A-GZE + the orignal bluetop 4A-GE.. bodey work was almost finished, same with the rust welding, some left in the boot but i'll handle that!
    anyways here are some pics!
Waiting for the ferry back to Norway

    back home in the garage

found a full poly bushing kit in the boot!

    also got a TRD wing

    2 sets of taillights

    Loove the orignal steering wheel

    327,000km's

its been in an accident... fixed up so you allmost cat see it when the fender is back on

    the rust

seems to be pretty good here

    someone has been here..

sooo the plans for this car is
-Import a Trueno front from the USA
-Get a JDM front bumper, i'v also got a Zenki lip...
    -Sandblast all the suspetion/diff/rods etc...
-clean the underside of the car and prep for paint
-White Panda paint, done by myself in the garage (dont worry, the rally car is painted in the garage aswell)
-Rota RKR 15x8 ET0, hope theese fits?
    -new tires
    -Poly bushings
    -Lowered
-TRD wing? not sure about this one

soo its going to be a ground up restoration pretty much..

but before that i need to swap out my 2T-C in my KE20 for a 4A-GE, and swapp all the suspention for AE86 and swap the diff..
starting by pulling the eninge out tomorow..

theen when thats finished, i need to take the engine mounts i had in it and put on a 2T-B i got, mount on my Bike carb amnifold and GSXR 1100 carbs, chuck that into this ride and finish the outside of it, reweld the rear rims( widned them to 12" ) then try to sell it, hopefully.. need some money to finance the AE86 and i need this brown KE20 off the lift...

Hope you like it, ill be posting in the KE section aswell...

    That all sounds mighty awesome!!!

Are you sure about the Rota wheels? If you're going this length to restore and be period correct, you may as well get some ssr's or watanabes

    Started stripping it

going to bring all the suspesion back to bare metal and paint it, then moutn it back up with new bearings, poly bushings and new brakes

    rear end out

    need new dampers aswell

took these of since they are almost ready for paint

    started stripping the bay

the front end seems to be in good condition

worse in the rear, someone has been doing some work here

unsure if this is a lsd on not, when i spin the driveshaft flange both wheels spin in the same direction, so it may be an lsd

AE92 redtop, i think im going to use this

hmmm.. should get my SC engine running some thime aswell

    stainless headers and exhaust

    wiring harness out

got tired of the holes in the back hatch so i carefully welded them up put the levin front end just to see how it looks, first and last time its on the car while i own it cant wait for the Trueno jacked it down and just put some Borbet wheels on slicks i had laying arround, not going with these, i want RS Watanabe wheels or TE37V unsure to go with the TRD wing or not, thinking of restoring both my rear hatches, one with one without..
