There are kits on the market which will allow you to delete the brake booster and run a remote clutch reservoir.
Check out sq engineering for velocity stacks as many many hours has been put into r&d and testing on a flow bench.
Hi guys,
I have a RHD 86 Levin, planning to swap in a BT 20V motor.
I'm trying to figure out what's the best way to run velocity stacks on this car.
I heard the max I can run is 70mm or 50mm with an individual filter? Due to clearance issue with the brake booster.
But that would cause too much power loss.
i was also looking at these, it's very low profile, but not sure how good the flow is.
so i have 2 questions
rhd ae86 bt 20v
1. Assuming I will run without filter, what's the longest velocity stack i can fit?
2. If i want to run a filter, what's the best option to fit the longest velocity stack?
Thanks !!

Yes i'm def. going with the SQ products.
Just need to work out what length to run.
I'm trying not to delete the booster if at all possible.
there has to be an easier way !? What if i run the first 3 cylinder with 70mm, then the 4th cylinder with 50mm, will that clear?
Any issue with running a setup like that?
I'm almost positive that a member by the name of Frak? Spent alot of dyno time on different steps including different length trumpets for each cylinder. Have a look around for it as I can't link it on my mobile

You can run different length stacks on opposing pairs of cylinders, however you would also have to run an ECU capable of individual cylinder tuning as well.
Generally the longest you can get away with inside a proper airbox is 30mm, or open with sock filters about 50mm.
I have some information on this here:
The summarised answer is that 70mm will fit but not leave any room for filters, so 50mm it is.
Fitting an EP91 starlet brake booster will help with clearance but probably still not enough for 70mm.
You can run a Mekaru airbox but the longest stacks you can fit are 30mm, of which I have a single set left, probably for ever. This actually works quite well.
Those filters you have linked to either don't filter very well or they are restrictive. Due to the low surface area it has be one of the two. Also they would likely be prone to rip and catch on fire.
