Default QLD: JDM 1984 AE86 Levin hatch

    Hi folks,
Very regretful sale here. I really don't want to sell this car and you may think the price is too high, but I will only sell it for the right price, so...

Please be advised this is only being advertised on here and nowhere else. I figured if this does end up in someone else's hands, they need to be the right person. Someone who will treat it right. An enthusiast.

This vehicle was imported by Just JDM Imports back in early 2015. It has been in storage from now until then (except when I put it on a trailer and moved it to my house).
The vehicle was complied by Just JDM Imports when I purchased it. It has no rego. It is not currently road worthy.

Please click here for my build thread:
    !

It has been an adventure of discovery to find out details on this vehicle, but here is what I know:

    04/1984 JDM AE86
Shut Door Respray (Originally silver. Good quality blue paint, but could do with a polish.)
Researching the VIN says it's a GTV
16V 4A-GE (unknown bottom end) with noticeable add-on mods
Plenty of aftermarket goodies already installed, which I will try and list now...

    ENGINE:

    Toda R adjustable Cam Gears
    Toda R Cams (272 In. / 264 Ex.)
    Upgraded Injectors (unknown details)
Freedom ECU (also comes with a spare Freedom ECU with extra bits on it)
Oil Filter relocation kit (but it's been put in a dumb location near the bonnet latch)
    TRD Plug Leads
Has A/C but not plumbed up yet (needs regassing too)
    Special Oil Catch Can
HKS Pod (it's very old though...)
Electric Thermo Fan (operated by switch. Off a later model Corolla, I think)
    Dead battery
    New fuel filter
Plenty of Japanese zip ties (everywhere!)
    Earth wire kit throughout

    EXHAUST:

Good set of Headers (Jasma label)
    Cat delete pipe
    O2 sensor in front pipe
Hotdog resonator with over diff exhaust
Sports rear muff (simple oval shape, nothing too showy)
Factory heat shields still in place too!

    DRIVELINE:

    T50 Gearbox
    Standard clutch (feels standard anyway...)
LSD (has hand writing on diff housing saying "4.3")
    Disc brake rear end
Unknown info about brake pads, discs, etc. (still in good condition though)
    Braided brake lines
    Drift button hand brake

    SUSPENSION:

Proper front strut brace (one that wraps around the strut towers)
Rear strut brace (looks like same brand as front one)
Coilovers upfront (possibly JIC) with damper control
Camber tops with height adjustment on top
    RCA's
    Unknown spring rates all round
    Traction brackets
    Adjustable Panhard rod
    KYB Blue Rear shocks
    bigger sway bars
    Chassis braces under front guards

    BODY:

Never before seen stick on fender flare thingy's (these actually cover the holes made by previous bolt on flares)
    Genuine Front lip
Front bumper has been cut RHS wheel arch (possible track damage?)
Rear bumper has been melted from bad rear muffler fitment
    Plastic side skirts
Small rust patch just under RHR window
Rusty hatch (used to have a wing pop rivetted on it)
Slat grille (has been cut to fit oil filter)
Whitelines (look great with the blue paint)
Genuine plastic stone guard under the front
    Rust free rear beaver panel!
Rust protection coating on chassis rails
Seam sealed rear wheel arches and roll cage plates
Few dings here and there, but overall an excellent shell

    INTERIOR:

    Cusco half cage
Recaro (Late model) drivers seat (needs a clean) on Recaro rail
Recaro Fish net passenger seat (dirty as and needs a retrim) on Bride rail
Shit load of gauges in the glovebox and around the dash (Innovate brand here & there)
Freedom ECU mounted in OEM location
    Complete carpet front and rear
    Sound deadening removed
    No rear seats
    Most trims, including parcel shelf!
    330mm Nardi wheel
TRD round gear knob (missing top sticker)
    Double-Din head unit
pretty good condition interior with no major issues

    WHEELS:

Front = Volk Mesh (black) 14 x 7 (Offset unknown)
Rear = SSR Formula Mesh (gold) 14 x 6.5 (Offset unknown)
    Tyres are shit

Asking $12,500 as is, where is.
This price is negotiable but please no low ball offers. I'm sorry, but this is hard for me to stomach as I had a life long plan for this car, but now it needs to go due to other debts. Damn it!

I didn't buy this car for cheap, but I saw the potential in it and knew it wasn't a bare-bones project. It has heaps of quality parts on it and upon first inspection I knew it was built for a specific reason by the previous owner in Japan. Unfortunately I don't have any history for the car from when it was back in Japan, but there is a scrap piece of paper in the centre console with a Japanese mobile number written on it. Moshi Moshi?

Currently the car is locked in my garage with a car cover on it. I figure if I just leave it there like that, maybe it can stay. But I must be realistic about this and posting this ad is the first step. I probably sound a bit pathetic about selling this car, but it means a lot to me, even if I didn't spend much time on it since the purchase.

Is the paint good? or shit? I hate seeing prices heading this way. If you could get this for 8K, it MIGHT be a good buy. Needs fuckloads of work!

Yeah, it's not perfect (a few marks from transport & obviously the rust in the hatch), but it's good quality paint. When you open the doors, you can tell it was painted in a rush (masked up poorly), but they used good paint and must have put in some half decent prep work.

I know this price looks high, but it is negotiable... to a point. I've been offered 9K, but it's still not there for me.

Yes the car needs some TLC, but it's all labour. No parts are needed as it's got them all already.

Please try and understand my situation and try to refrain from posting negative comments. Cheers.

Thanks to Matt for making it such a smooth sale. I'm looking forward to seeing the car again at The All Jap Classics Day in Banyo.... and to help Matt build it over the next few years. It's such a great base car with al the mods already done... it just needs a good clean up.
