Default Question about W57 shifter position and AE70

    Hey guys,

I got a w57 gearbox for my 1uz Ke70 build. However, the box has a weird shifter on it. Same as the one in the link

    [ is good,have a look at it!.

Does anyone know if it will fit without modification of the stock gear hole?

    Please advise

That's the remote shifter in the link. Furthest back out of the 7 different shifter positions available. No, it probably won't go through the stock hole, but you never know.

The six shifter housings along the bottom are for W55/56/57/58, along with the remote shifter on the right. The top four are for the W50 steel case box.

There's one sure way to know which shifter position you need - Measure it. Engine mounting will determine where your gearbox sits, so sort that first, then follow the measuring guide Goldberg made here to determine what shifter position you need -
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?

    Thanks Javal!

I'll have to fit the engine first then follow the measuring guide. But after reading that link, my guess is it probably won't fit, especially since I'd like the engine mounted as far back as possible.

And, I've seen another thread by Goldberg, where he says that this particular extended shifter setup requires an additional shaft for it to fit AE86 /KE70... I'm yet to see a pic of the said shaft.

So does anyone have the part number for the third one along on the bottom row and the little knuckle that goes with it? I need to switch to it and Goldberg has disappeared.

I was able to buy the housing from dellows, a copy of oem, but not the knuckle below to the rail, so Ill just modify mine I think if the gearbox shop doesnt have one.

Hey man, I hope you were able to get the parts. I discovered that the old celica supra shifter setup fits perfectly in the KE70, with the 1uzfe and W57 gearbox. I got the whole setup brand new online from a toyota parts retailer in the US. (Can look for the website if you like).

    Sorry for the late reply.
