    Smile Cris' AE86

Hi, i'm Cris and i'm currently living in Bolivia. I've been wanting a Trueno or Levin for some time, although you can find here several models from different years (88-99, used imports), almost all of them are in really bad condition and, what is more important, are transformed from right to left side (and never done the right way).
Well, so i found a 1985 Levin SR-5, A86L code so i know it was a left sider from the factory. About 5 years ago the owner swapped the 4A-C engine for a newer 4A-FE, i know, it's not a 4A-GE, but it is an improvement over the original engine. It's got a lot of details, but that's where the fun is.
Well, enough chit chat, here are some pics from the day i got it:

That plastic bag on the left side is the ECU (!!!)

For now i've changed the air filter, coolant, all the oils, spark plugs, steering wheel (the one that it came with was falling apart) and a couple more things. I'll upload more photos tomorrow, when it is thoroughly cleaned inside out.

Thanks! Well, my idea is try to restore it. It still needs re carpeting, needs to be completely reupholstered, change the exhaust pipe and muffler, and to be completely repainted (it has little rust in some spots, nothing terrible, but still), also some interior bits need to be changed/repaired, amongst other things.

Here are some pics from today, just finished cleaning it up, new floor mats, steering wheel, and new wheels!:

Nice car. The wheels made a huge improvement.

Thats fantastic! How do you find the 4Afe overall. they would be smoother puttering around town compared to a 4ag. Thoughts on a nice easy 7af upgrade?

The last few months I've been restoring the car aesthetically:

    - Paint
    - Upholstery
    - New driver and passenger windows (the old ones were badly scratched)
    - Inside details (radio, steering wheel, clock bezel, speaker back panel)
    - Got the rear lights refurbished

The previous owner put some smaller sidelights from another Corolla (as you can see in the previous pics), so we had to make room again for the original ones, a friend lend me his so we could measure the space. About the 15th I have some parts coming in from eBay (with the sidelights) to sort out some other details, i'll post another update when i have all that.

p.s. What do you think of the wheel-car color combination? I think i like it.
