Assuming it's a street machine, I would think you should be looking at an exhaust system that is 2 1/4" Dia. [56mm]. The 2 1/4" Dia. is going to be pretty loud, and a 2 1/2" Dia. system is really loud, you would end up a hand full of tickets. Davew7
Hello everyone, this topic has probably been talked about before but I'm currently looking into getting a exhaust made for my AE86. I've recently installed a built 4AGE Big Port! Hi comp pistons, Big Cams! Porter head and ITB's. I already have the headers for it. What size and set up would you'd recommend? Thanks

Hey mate yeah the is going to be used for hill climbs, Sunday drive ect as it has si rego on it. I was thinking 2'1/4 aswell with just a muffler at the back
I always used to run 2 and a quarter press bent exhausts on a street driven 4age car. Keep it steel its a bit quieter. I had 4-2-1s, then a cat, resonator and 1 small muffler, it wasn't too loud, until one day I broke it behind the resonator and it was super loud.
being a built hi comp motor 2 1/2 would be the way to go. you don't wanna choke it going to small. As for loud add a muffler before the diff and after..
ROYAL GARAGE NEWCASTLE
2.25 mandrel or or 2.5" press is what i'd be running if the motor is high comp.
