Probably. But you'll find it was probably a relatively low speed impact into a gutter or ripplestrip or something that did that. Any wheel will shatter and crack under enough stress. Look up at the other OZ rim with the massive chunk out the middle.

Front rims after being on a high power civic at the "Ring'

I am yet to see the 16x8 GRID fail. It seems they may only make crap "light weight rims" which then leads me to doubt everything else they make.

No, some have a little thing called "I only spend my hard earned on quality, dependable, race and street proven parts from companies that have been around the scene for many years so i dont cry when my cheap nasty, no R&D, third world country, 300% 'mark up' parts fail so i have to go and buy the real deal" disease.

Buying brand name quality parts hasn't failed me yet.

Ohh and no one was debating ROTA's wheels don't look good.

The entire center piece didn't break out though, only the parts that would have sustained a huge impact

damage from hitting shit is normal any wheel including super heavy stock ones will crack.. the pics of that rim completely warped out of shape is what creeps me out

they weigh a fairly generous 8.5kg on my scales.... all four measured and weighed within 40grams of each other

to be fair in terms of design these are actually a 4x4 wheel... hence the size and offset. At some point someone somewhere got them custom pcd'd...

They arnt light but they are very robust as commented many times, i think they look great some wont agree but meh, its all fun. They also have HEAPS of room for brakes

The newer watanbe lookalikes come in some mad sizes and the offsets are great... 9.5" with +-0 and weights look good. What that means for the strength i dunno? but seriously, about 20% of people here GENUINLEY push their cars, and thats WAY more than the general public, so for the most part 99% of the population would have no problem with any of their wheels ever.

OT...not rota, but imagine what'll happen if these wheels break...they are made of glass!
