yeah i fixed that on my jap cluster today. 2 pins need to be swapped on the white plug. the one for handbrake and the other is brake fail. i think its pins 4 and 5. theyre both red+black (if i remember correctly). just swap them around and your cluster will function as normal.

FYI the bit which is lighting up is the catalytic converter temperature warning light.

But as said, swap the hand brake light pins into the correct position then the correct light will illuminate.

why would anyone think that a catalytic converter needs a temp light? it sounds a lil odd to me... ill wait before i swap the pins over untill i get my good dash cluster... which im still waiting on to turn up in the mail ... but when it arrives if i have the same problem ill swap the pins.

So i got my nice new camber top top plates made up on Friday, 5mm stainless steel is what i chose to have them made out of and i had them water cut to the same spec's as the Cusco AE86 tops. they look sweet, and the only reason i made the tops was that i had RA60 tops before and the center fitted to the AE86 ones so i just made the top plates and it turned out cheaper than buying another set of tops. any way heres some pics.

my bro didnt make them sadly ... but he did supply the stainless steel for me ... they were "off cuts" ... which both just happened to be the exact same size and perfect for me to use ...
but i took the steel to a machining shop in Wyong called... Easy Motors. i paid them to cut them out as they have a water cutter and it would give me a better finish than anything my bro could do.

ok so i spent all day working on my car today ... i now have the camber tops bolted in and set ... they took a decent amount of camber off my wheels so they are a lil straighter now ... and if i like i can get a fuck load more than what i already had ...
i also finally hung my exhaust it took a while but its in now and it has a cat in it. which i welded in myself at work when we had nothing to do. the cat dose hit on something atm but its in place so until i am able to start it up and see if it vibrates on anything it will stay as is ...
i now have working window washers to i first tested the motor with a 9v battery and found that i had blocked pipes so after cleaning them and it tested ok with low pressure i hooked up the spare 12V battery i had laying around and they worked sweet but i might need to adjust the aim a lil bit, and i did notice that the wipers don't come on when you hold down the spray button ... is that normal i know on newer cars they come on when you spray the window but i wasn't sure about the AE86.
so the things i need to get done still is get the oil cooler on , finish the radiator plumbing, have an auto elec extend my loom, and work out why i have no headlights and why my brake lights come on as soon as i connect power to the body looms.

anyway heres some pic's of my work i did today.
note: the pic of my drivers side wheel is how it was without my camber tops and the pic of the passenger side is how it is with the camber tops.
