ok so when i bought the car it was basicly a rolling shell. it had a 4A-GE sml port in it but needed the wiring/ alternator/ starter motor, injectors, and a few other thing for the motor. it had a gearbox ... but its in a thousand pieces so i bought a 2nd hand T50 from a guy locally ( not sure of his user name on here) so appart from that the car had wheels ... white 17"... (horrid) has a duck wing , i think a T series diff , with drums @ the back ... celica front brakes ( found out they are also used in the lotus excege 2.2L turbo ... ) the interior is in good condition i have an uncracked dash and all the trim and seats have no rips or tears just a lil dirty.
ok so ive had the car for 5- 1/2 days and so far i have put a T50 into it, rebuilt the rear brakes , attacked the front brakes ( waiting on pads). put an alternator on ( from my donor sml port 4A-GE), changed the wheels ( still 17"s but alot nicer ... with a lil dish) , got the driveline in place just waiting for the bolts to secure it which im getting tomorrow from work ( brian hilton toyota), started to put the wiring loom in ... ( having some troubles ... & would greatly appreciate some help), changed the steering wheel and cam covers ( momo steering wheel and original painted covers), re fitted the brake booster and master cylinder, fitted the clutch master cylinder, started to fix the rust ... ( sanding away the surface rust & looking for the major stuff...) . ok so thats sorta where im up to now on the car. any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.

ok so i got an update for you all.
it is now day 8 on my 86 build.
i have put the injectors in and cut and shut inlet manifold, bolted the drive shaft in & started fixing the rust.

im still having trouble with the wiring, it would be awesome if someone with a 4A-GE sprinter could show me where the wiring go's off there car. apart from that im getting really close to having to take it to an auto electrics.

The small port loom is a particular prick, everything is too short if you want to do a decent clean job, so it typically involves a lot of extending sections.

    My AE71 small port loom:

It'd be very similar for an AE86.

You're welcome to look at my AE71 and get some ideas, but realistically if you don't have any experience with auto electrics you're going to struggle with wiring.

I'd offer to do it for you for a fee, but I wont be free for a while, I just finished two cars of other people's and now I'm taking the time to finish my own car once and for all.

that pic is a good view of what i need to do ... the main things i need to do with the wiring is just work out where it all go's.
im rather sure my sprinter has all the old 4A-C wiring still in the front ... its running around the guards at the front, the only things ive been able to work out on that were the lights and a few fuse box plugs.
