i witness this with reece as i was at his house, weird. could it be the ball point fouling? im itching to find out whats wrong with it
Hey guys long story short. Ive made custom coilovers, shortened them by 40mm to fit the sw20 agx inserts, Tried to fit the suspension together with a 35mm - RCA to correct geomitry. When i put the RCA's in my struts fouls on my swaybar and the lca is hard up against my rotor.
Ive got 355mm lca's from an unknown vechile that have been grounded down to give the rotor clearance by previous owner for the standard setup. The struts are xt130 with pug/hilux
I am not to sure what i should do. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Yes I have seen this before. If you try to use that combination (XT130 struts, HiLux brakes, AE86 steering knuckle) the rotor will rub on any control arm you use.
If you want to keep the XT130 struts and HiLux brakes, you have to remove the AE86 steering knuckles and use RA23 or XT130 steering knuckles. They will be longer with slower steering. For quick steering, you need to customise the steering knuckles some way (cut-weld, or remanufacture some how). Done it a few times.
With the RA23 and XT130 knuckles, the ball joint hole is in the middle of them. With the AE86, the ball joint hole is offset. This is the difference causing you trouble.
Lots of solutions, most of them requiring a welder or some light machining.
haven't come across this yet, as mines still in pieces but will look into it.
any photos or more details would be great

Ive taken them out as it was depressing looking at it. Ive 2 things i can do, machine the rca's down to 25mm + grind of some of the lca to make clearance.
Or do not run rca's and leave it with minimal bump steer.
Also with new coilover suspension i get knocking noises coming from both sides when i hit bumps, and i know 100% my springs are captive all the time. It came from my lca's area its the reason for trying to fit the rca's to see if it was bump steer knocking it around.
The overall strut tube is now 360mm If i were to run 25mm rca would it be enuff. Thanks again
take some pics mate. i had some problems with rx7 brakes and corona arm but i just hit the corona arm back a bit with a hammer around the ball joint.
This is whats going on here , and possible fix. I am going to machine the rca's down to 25mm not allowing the lca do push to far down on the rotor and also take some metal off the lca's.
Even with 42mm taken out of strut i am still not receiving bump steer with reasonable suspension lowering
Heres the clearance with no rca's and angle of the lca's its around 4mm from the rotors. So you can see what happens when the 35mm rca's are added. The lca is pushed onto the rotor.

Honestly what do you guys think i am going about it wrong
maybe try what jonny suggested? might fix the problem
i hope you dont run those 5 !! slip on spacers like that while driving ??? Bolt on spacers would be much safer.
