in one of the OPTION DVD's they talk about him distroying his engine,, overnight they just jam a stock 4a in their and NOS it up... poor little 4a would be molten metal by the end of that meet!

if u could only build a reliable n/a setup like yoshiokas it would be perfect!

I agree, it's awesome how he can still keep up with the big cars on the straights, but still have the agility of an AE86 through the corners.

the 7age is as reliable as a 4age aslong as you use aftermarket rods and get crank work done.

he got an extra 20hp from the extra 200cc

the nos is what would destroy his engine so quickly.

the bloke who had the 7age keto had a pretty bodgey 7age. he just wacked a 4a head on a 7a bottom end. he didnt even use the 4a pistons. i remeber him asking questions about what he could do on the old forums.

it has its ways doesnt it.

in the video they call it a dry system, but it seems to be setup as a direct port system without the fuel nozzle.. u can get controllers that bleed in the NOS, but im guessing for this setup its just full song at the flick of a switch.. or paddle in yoshioka's case.

i was looking (before i screwed my head on ) to duild an NA SR with quads and NOS... i just cant loose the NA bug.

yeh +1000000000 to that wally !!

with the 7age, what kind of figures are we looking at to get a reliable and strong motor money wise. i was reading a article about it on toymods and apparently someone said that its not a revvy motor up in the high end, if im wrong can someone point to the right directions cheers.

well with the longer stroke it wouldnt be as rev happy as an engine with a shorter stroke, but in yoshioka's case that thing sounds "off tits"!! the 20v head prolly gives it a bit more breathing power and RPM but id have to say listening to that engine its definatly not lacking any RPM!

this is a much debated topic.

im gonna build one and find out and some point.

from discussions on toymods, and speaking with people who own the engines, it seems as long as theyre not revved past 8000 theyre ok. this is using standard rods. the actual rod itself never breaks. just the big end cap studs tear out of the rod.

most people who run 4a's only rev them to mid 7s so i dont see what the problem is there. the 7a is a little under square. so it wont have the same "character" as a 4a. but that doesnt mean its not going to be a "better" engine, with more power, and more torque. its still a 4 cylinder with close to a square bore/stroke ratio, so its not gonna feel like a diesel truck.

i think with the cams i have now, and some quads, if i went to 7a, and did a tiny bit of work on the head (the type of stuff thats easy to do at home). id make an easy 170hp, but 180 wouldnt be surprising.

    should also be noted yoshioka's car isnt a 7ag. 82x83.. is "5ag". 7a's have an 85.5mm stroke.

whoops that was my bad. so 5ag having slighly shorter stroke?
whats the capacity difference between 5ag and 7ag? and whats the deal do they both use the 7afe block?
