Yeah, I previously assumed that the speedo cable had broken, but it had actually not been locked into the back of the dash correctly, hence not working. When I replugged it back in etc, everything worked sweet. Obviously it is way out due to the new diff ratio, but that is what a GPS is for (Will actually get it fixed properly by a speedo calibration joint)

Also, going to just buy an AE86 swaybar from AJPS I think. Too much effort to find an 'old' celica one when you live in a small(ish) country town.

Cheers man, thanks for the kind words. Also, sucks to see what happened to your car Hope you can get it back out on the track in its former glory again!

Late update, but anywho, Winton was fucking awesome! Had no hand brake and an exhaust manifold held on by 2 studs and silicon, but was still great anyway Just sucked that I had to leave halfway through the day as I was going on holidays. Can't wait till next time!

Pics of me from the day:

And lastly a video the missus took early in the day before her camera died:

And another video that a mate just found from Winton. It also features Willa and Regginblack who were both in front of me

Please note, if you thought that it sounded like my car had the exhaust manifold only held on by 2 out of 5 studs...you'd be right haha.

    So yeah another irregular update:

Bought a house with the missus.

Fixed leaking exhaust manifold gasket. (See - Replacing 3 of 5 broken studs)

Drove it for another couple of months.

    Decided I needed more power.

    Bought this:

Decided last thursday night that I might put it in. So with the help of a mate, we removed the old 4AGE in little over an hour.

Thus the engine bay looked like:

Being busy Friday night and Saturday morning, it left me with a lot to catch up on if I was to get it running by today.

So, Saturday afternoon we put the engine in like so:

We then proceeded to wire up the engine till such time as the fuel pump was working and it cranked. Shortly after, the battery went dead and we called it a night.

So, as I had forgotten about Fathers day (as you do), I lost nearly another whole day of the conversion. After spending the day at my olds, Dad came around in the evening to help fab up some Intercooler brackets. We got about 50% of the way through them but decided that it was beer o'clock, and again called it a night.

Anywho, couldn't get it done by today (not that I really ever thought I would) but with the help of Jake's little bro, we sorted the ECU wiring. After a bit of stuffing around, he realised that I had accidently wired the fuel pump to only be working in the 'Start' position which was the reason I could only get it to briefly fire then die

With this issue now sorted, it now goes like this:

Now the to-do list that needs to be finished so I can drive it!

    - finish cooler mounting and radiator mounting brackets
    - get cooler piping welded together
    - tidy up wiring and mount ECU in the car (not sitting on my windshield)
    - Get exhaust made

And a side note for anyone who is reading/can can help/cares, is a 2" system too small for 4AGTE? Really want to reuse the current system as it is only 3 months old and top quality stainless job.

But yeah, that's it for now.

Yeah lol. That thing has a mean idle too!

Going to try finish all mounting brackets tonight and then get the piping cut to size so my mate can weld them up for me. There is literally about 2 feet of piping, so good.

    Cooler and radiator mounting finished.

Cut the pieces to size for the cooler piping and gave them to a mate to weld up for me. Should see them tonight.

Pulled all the wiring out and re-did it all (neat and clean-like) Massive thanks to Jake's little bro again for his help and patience trying to explain things to me!

Hopefully tonight I'll have the piping back and have some boost happening
