    Default t50 rebuild costs

The t50 in my t18 is pretty noisey 1,3,and 5th are the worst.
It holds in gear fine and shifts easily but the noise is terrible.
What would it be and what would the approimate cost involved in fixing this?

I assume you've done the basics like check how much oil is in it etc?
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?

i remember us_86 posted the cost of all the components of a complete rebuild of a t-50.

I think it came to somewhere around $1100

yeh it's pretty ridiculous... not really worth it unfortunately, and pretty sure there is a few bearings and stuff that aren't available non genuine.. and I think genuine it's like $160 for a single bearing

7 years ago I paid $650 to have a T50 rebuilt. I think it got some new bearings and synchros. Felt great when it came back.

But that's still the price of 2-3 replacement T50s. Not worth it in my opinion.

yes and no. depends how you drive. ive had one done for half what you paid hen, built from 2 shit gearboxes, and he has to do some machining as well.

and yes, when i got it back. amazing. nothing like any other t50, or gearbox in general, i have ever owned. honestly felt like the car was faster with it.

if i were building just a street car, with a fairly mild na 4age, id do it.

one thing though, is a reco isnt gonna un-fatigue an abused gear, so i would only do it to something thats out of a virgin car.

do it then my t50 is really tight compared to all other gearboxes i have felt i love my virgin t50
    the dyno pull to 300rwkw

BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less

my t50 is loose but not as loose as the one in my first ae86. my 2nd ae86 had one tighter than a 10year old's ass

i would prefer to chuck a newish w5x out of a hilux in. may aswell upgrade if your spending the cash
