problem - hey lads just a quick question, is it possible to get more thread tapped onto stock castor rods? and where should i go to get it done?

Fairly easy, cheapest way is to probably just go out and buy a decent quality die of the correct size and go to town.
Might be 40-50 for the die though.
But then you can sell your services to your mates.

I have this die and die holder, and put heaps of thread on when I had a KE55/TE37. On an AE86 I don't find as much need for extra thread.

Unless you get the most expensive die, it will still take a fair bit of effort to cut the thread. You obviously have to have the rod out of the car, and clamped in the vice. When cutting external threads, I almost always end up cutting the thread in the lathe. You have to set the lathe up with correct gears, and use a 60 degree tool. Then once the thread is mostly done, the die is just used to clean it up, and the die is not loaded up too much.

mate if your on the gold coast i can give you details of the place that did mine. cost me 40-50 i think.. as much as you need cut in
in arundel.
