hey guys i was wondering if you are supposed to run the standard rubber spring caps with stiffened and lowered rear springs.

All I know is that it makes allot of noise with out them.
But will it effect the rear spring rate if I put them on. Or is the cushioning effect of the rubber allowed for?

pretty much just stops diff noise transfeering to the body via the steel on steel spring to body contact.

definately noisier without them.

mine have always been pretty rooted (split or torn apart) so i never bothered running them

It is a dampener, It will make your car lower if you take them out but id rather run them.

Are these the 1/2 - 3/4" block or the really small rubber cap thats about 3mm thick?

I run them. But being ~25 years old they are somewhat shagged.

They serve a purpose and are meant to be there. Thats good enough for me.

Nothing wrong with a little spring to diff traction.:D

I took them out when I put new springs in the other week.. was way too noisy so next time I had it up on stands put the thicker one back on.

It made it sit higher which is gay, but Im glad I put them back in as I could hear the springs moving around before.

Where do you get replacements from? Toyota still stock?
I've got lowered rear springs and god dam they are noisey.
Sound doesn't really bother me that much, but scares shit through most passengers.

They won't change the rate, just the ride height, and only by SFA.
