I put a 4ac into my ke70 which originally had a 4kc later on I got defected for worn tyres so I had to get a rwc the guy gave my the rwc but he told me that I had to let vic roads know that there was a different engine, I never did that and I got my defect cleared vic roads still don't know lol

It all depends on how legal you want it I don't know how you will go getting a 4ag through vic roads

You technically do need an engineers certificate for the 4AGE motor in your originally 4AC powered 86, but you'll be able to change the engine number at VicRoads easy. Both engine blocks start with '4A' then some other random numbers.

The people who check your motor at VicRoads wouldn't know the difference. When changing your engine number, they just look for the engine number on the block and see if it matches the forms you have to fill out.

just out of curiousity. has anyone here been in an accident and had them knock back insurance due to illegal mod's?

Sure you'll have the right engine number on your rego, but that basicaly means your run of the mill cop wont hassle you. If someone knows what they are doing they will still ask for engineer papers...
