just wondering how every would go about doing it?

the paint is cracked in some places so i don't want to paint straight over the top of it.

my guess is sanding or paint stripper, but i have no idea and i dont really want to wreck the bar.

Thanks All!

you can get a "special" paint stripper for plastics, its a bodytech product

it does wonders, but you need to have some time on your hands

sanding it will remove the "dimple look" the bumpers have from factory

I'm in the midst of doing mine at the moment. Here are some pics:

Just sanding it all back, getting rid of paint cracks, then gonna bog up and chips that it's got taken out of it, sand them back, and paint with Bumper paint. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'll write up a tech article soon for plastic colour remover.

Removes the dye colour a little too!

is there anything wrong with using normal paint stripper on a plastic bar?

plastic strippers are shit. just buzz the fuck out of it with 120 then 240 then 400. hand rub/maron scotch hard to get parts. prime it or if its really bad polyester it block it 180-240 buzz it back with 400 soft pad then prime it. works a treat for fiber glass bars to.

plastic strippers arent that bad...and if you want to keep the OEM look you CANT sand the bar
