CAR - Suzuki Swift GTi
MOTOR -G13B 16 Valve
USE -Daily.
PROBLEM/QUESTION - I am just finishing up a rebuild on my daily (new bearings, rings, seals etc) and I'm unsure what oil to use to run it in. The engine is very similar in design to a 4A. I'm going to fill it up with cheap 15w30 oil, run it for 15 minutes to get contaminants out, then go from there. What is a good grade to use? I'm only going to run it for 1000k's, then just go back to my usual oil.

I would say 15-40 would be spot on, Im using a 20w50 in my 4age to run in, only got about 100km left before I dump the oil and put some fresssh stuff in.

Just make sure its plain mineral, not synthetic

There was a thread on this already

Never heard of it, will check it out though. 15w40 Magnatec is what i will be using after the run-in period, as long as its not too thin i should be alright. Thanks :)

proper run in oil doesnt contain zinc. normal engine oil does. so if you want to run it in properly dont use normal engine oil, get the proper oil
