Ok, im mid way through doing my new brake package on the race car and its turning out to be a sweet pain in the arse.

This is a stock AE86 strut and hub with FC caliper with an S13 disc, which according to DBA has a 49mm overall height.

This is a RA40 strut and hub, with FD caliper and S15 disc, which according to DBA has a 54mm overall height.

Now that sits a hell of a lot more than 5mm closer to the strut, and im not sure why.

With that in mind, i think there could be only a few variable factors, one that the AE86 mounting thickness (i..e. the thickness of the area where the hub mounts to the disc) is thinner, or that the entire hub itself is taller to push the disc out a chunk.

I.e. can someone measure A and B on this picture:

Does anyone have measurements for the AE86 hub around, as i dont have any AE86 hubs left.

You're missing the picture with A to B in it.

And what an sweet setup it is in that top picture. It's awesomeness = 1/0

i knwo for a fact that RA40/xt130 struts have a higher (closer to 90*) KPA then the ae86 struts. i also know for a fact that the pug/lux/corona brake upgrade will not work with ae86 PS arms and rona LCA as the disc hits the end of the LCA. you nee to use different steering arms from a xt130 (which are longer and shit) or use NRCA's.

Then explain how i used AE86 PS arms and a CPH upgrade for 6 months without anything fouling...

Infact, from my own measurements:
http://gallery2.plebeians.net/d/28030-2/IMG_2781.JPG
XT130 KPI is 8.7deg
http://gallery2.plebeians.net/d/28051-2/IMG_2788.JPG
AE86 is 8.5deg
+-0.1deg

The KPI angle is exactly the same, your premise was that they dont fit because the KPI angle is different.

If you want to say "My CPH setup didnt fit with X LCA and Y Steering arm and running Z camber" sure. But to say comprehensively:

i knwo for a fact that RA40/xt130 struts have a higher (closer to 90*) KPA then the ae86 struts. i also know for a fact that the pug/lux/corona brake upgrade will not work with ae86 PS arms and rona LCA

Then you are wrong.

Fwiw, AE86 PS arm, XT130 strut, and XT130, AE86, MX32 and Sigma LCAs fit just fine.

break it up into two parts.

they are different, however accurate your tool is, they are different by your method as well.

and i do know for a fact that the CHP on a xt130 strut, with ae86 ps arms, and xt130 LCA in a ae86, with maxed out BC camber tops did not work. this was in a fellow members car.

i wasnt trying to start a debate or say you were wrong. i gave definate 1st hand knowledge.
