MUST be secoured as in not zip ties or something like that it has be be a furm mounting point so it dose not flop around. this also goes for FMIC piping. best to also put a heat shieald on it as some cops will say something some wont this is one thing i am not 100% on.

You're kidding. A proper brace is several minutes work.

i was considering it as i already have one made from a while back when i was messing around, will get some metal strap and make a proper one

check with your local authorities...

in vic a pod IS legal as long as it is secure (box not required) BUT it can be the ONLY induction modification.

this is from the vicroads site

This ones right up my alley ;)

I had to do this to pass inspection today, it all comes down to wording - if they want you to secure it, that's all they want. I'll throw up sone pics and maybe even move this thread to the tech section to make it relevant. I used some metal strapping from my dad, under the hose clamp where the pod is, and attched it to the body. Got the idea from Tim.Duncan in the thread I made about it :)

i didnt know where to put the thread but it didnt seem techy at the time
pics would be great cheers,
im thinking of doing a simple strap and attaching it to the chassis, possibly use a piece of pvc pipe to lengthen the piping so the filter is as far over as possible
will put up pics of final setup on staurday night most probably, could use the pvc as a mounting point, its pretty strong

OK, here we are:

Its just a bit of strapping, i think that you use for fencing. It's flexible enough to be able to be positioned, but strong enough that it holds the pod in place.

There is a tiny bit under the hose clip that holds it, and the other end is bolted on the body, in one of the holes already pressed in the body.

Tim.duncan's original idea is in here: http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=11312

isn't it dangerous mounting it there when you go driving with water on the road? or does it not suck up any water? i was going to put mine there but it seemed water might creep into my motor and rape my internals

there is my solution, anyone see any problems with this?
will the induction noise be too loud or is it alright?

its mounted directly to the throttle body with a proper clamp

you would need ear plugs due to too much induction noise

the engineer looked directly at it and was quite happy with it,
he did listen to it while revving and while idling and didnt have a problem with it or pick up and inappropriate noise levels
