Car - ae86

motor - 3sge

use - holding down my jack

problem -hey guys,

have r33 gtst brakes on my s13 front end. al is lovely, cept my wheels dont fit anymore. the face mounting plate is too large on the rota grids. so my question is has anyone found any decent low offset wheels in an 8 and 15 or 16 with plenty of backspacing and a small face plate? long shot i know but...

maybe if someone had a spare superlight i could play with for 5 mins?? that would be super :P

thanks :)

occurs/started when - i attach wheels

personal situation - open to experimentation

With Rallystanza I've test fitted 15x8 Superlights over R33 brakes on S13 stuff. They **just** fit. Also that was a couple of years ago, and they may have changed designs slightly since then, so be careful.

Both senses.

Z32 calipers didn't fit, because they hit the inside of the wheel, around the mounting face area. R33 calipers sit 6mm further out and so clear there, but came bloody close to the outer rim and the spokes too.

Im trying to think off the top of my head of someone in bris how has superlights...........nope, brisbane is fail.

If you get a few measurements i can rip one of mine off and measure. Thats the 15 day way tho not the 5min way.

beally.... they use the same rotor and caliper as the s14 and s15 cars, just an allow caliper instead of the iron ones.......

i made a descriptive mistake :) its z32 brakes i have i was mulling over using r33 gtst brakes as a solution cos they put the caliper further out from the hub. my bad.

atm im looking at using 20mm boltons to clear and maybe going back to the smaller r31 lca to bring track back, or just torching the whole thing and getting a series 8 rx7 :)

Thats incorrect....

R33 Gtst rotors are 296mm x 30mm
S14/15 rotors are 280mm x 30mm

R32gtst/Z32 rotors are 280mm x 30mm

the S15 caliper is also cast iron and the R series are all alloy, i think the R32 GTR is the odd one, i think its a cast aswell... im not 100 % on that though.

im running R32 caliper on an St141 strut etc and 15 x 8 -4 should be sweet but the 10 -12 will be sweet.. see with the factory nissan setup u have to run mega crap offset wheels because of the caliper position.. the rotor height is also rubbish for being setup on an 86/70 . it calls for a more outboard caliper position which means positive offset wheels!, hence why no one use's the nissan rotors.. they use ford and cooper S and their is one more, but ford rotors work great. check out my build thread for pics.

i say scrap the S13 front and mod the 86 front. u can still use the calipers on MX73 or ST141 struts and they bolt straight up (100mm spacing)

im modding the caliper mounts slightly to get it all right but nothing major..

lol...yeah was going to mention read the rest of the post :)

i have been thinking about getting rid of the s13 front end, but im more interested in having the car finished lol. atm spacers to clear will sort me out and ill look at something further down the track.

yeah i might hit up dish for a fiddle of his *wheels* :)
