Steering lighter? No, heavier.
Lock is the same as a normal AE86 rack. The benefit of these is so that there are less turns of the wheel to full lock.

Yep I have one, and there heavy when parking, but awesome for drifting, half a turn to the left or right equals the same as a full turn in my old 86.
