Hey guys,
Thinking about cooling with my 20v, I was thinking about going super clean and getting the RS Chita kit. But the one thing I've been reading about it is that it cools the block first. Is that really such a big deal? It's how it is on the 16v isn't it? Please enlighten me!
THANK - YOU !

thanks guys, Clinton as Wideslider said look at what he did as he has the neatest conversion I have ever seen.
Now to your question, it doesn't cool the block first. I have dug up the info from an unreleased article I wrote a long while ago but basically the only change is the single passage above the throttles gets the water last (hottest) instead of first (coldest). How is how it is stock:
- Bottom of radiator cold water out
- Head inlet ports channel (passage above inlet ports)
- Water pump
- Engine block
- exhaust side of head
- Top radiator hose and radiator
and then rwd converted:
- Bottom of radiator cold water out
- Water pump
- Engine block
- exhaust side of head
- Head inlet ports channel (passage above inlet ports)
- Top radiator hose and radiator
yes its completely fine and infact it probably puts less thermal stress on your head. I have run this for 4 years or so without a fan including some time on a racetrack
