well its simple....put some thing small on something big to make it stretch? so if u want stretch get a wide rim 8 inch wide sud do it and put 185/60 on it if its 14 like ae86 above

or if u hav by 7 wide put a 165 or 175 for a bit of stretch look

Its more than the look that people go for

1. Driver feel
2. Fits under guards when rims have - offset
3. Price

I should add though, if you actually want grip though (which is typically what you want at least on the front) I'd run at least a 185 on the front. Because after all they are what is pointing you in the direction you want to go.

general rule of thumb i use for 14s is 185 on 8, 195 on 9,
that being said, i run 185 on 9s.

just buy a decent tyre is what ive found.

ive run 205/50's and they have had less grip than 195/55's in a decent tyre.

width doesnt always mean more grip.

i also feel like you can overtyre keto and 86s pretty easy, cause they dont have alot of weight on each corner, realistcally your looking at (.52x850)/2 at the front corners and (.48x850)/2 on the rear corners, and if your talking about a contact part around 3-5cm2 on a 195 50 or 2-4cm2 on a 185 60, your looking at a very small amount of applied pressure, of course that amount changes with loading, but thats precisely my point, in effect its often better to load up something small 90$ than something bigger 45%.

This also has to do with my belief that some people run tyre pressures that are too low.

skidrat on here put 145's on his 225 rims.

cause they need 13's or 14's. and soemthing genuine oldschool/jap.

im not usually a hater of sportmax/china/america/shit wheels

but t-18's have that definitive 80's shape about them that really really needs the wheels to suit.

otherwise it looks intensely tacky.

i.e. i would rather sacrifice size/offset for decent style :)

I'm gonna get a set of these:

Yes, they're sportmax copies but they're cheap. And cheap is good, because I have no money.
