its a black limited.
it was a limited run in 87 before the AE92 took over. it sets apart the car from a regular trueno becuase:
1) factory black paint
2) unique gold and silver 14" wheels
3) specific gold striping and badges
4) specific interior trim
there was no performance upgrades it was all cosmetic upgrades. basically a last hurrah for the AE86 before the end of an era.

Because its a black limited. Very clean car and yes ther wernt many made but thers not much difference really stock vs stock it had a different interior, wheels and i think some suspension goodies. its more a collectors item now. as most 86's these days shit on them. so buy it and keep it garaged

Looks like half the original limited parts have been swapped out anyhow.
Not original enough to fetch big coin.

It's a little overpriced even for a Black Limited in my opinion because it is not concourse condition i.e. doesn't have original wheels, interior (steering wheel, gear shift), seats door cards are same as GT-Apex but Black Limited has "Apex" embroided in gold and orange guages in instrument cluster too. You would need to check VIN chassis code and build plate to confirm it is BL from colour trim etc. There was 400 made so would likely be number XXX/400 somewhere too.
Sure it has a few good bits fitted SSR's, TRD bits and bobs and fairly low km's just under 100,000km but a nice kouki truneo with same parts would be around half the asking price. I'd value it at no more than $20,000 as it is and that is being generous!
There is a mint Black Limited (http://www.carland86.com/list/view.cgi?file=263&mode=view) at Carland86 for 1,600,000 Yen, If you're considering paying this much for a Trueno, I'd import this one from Japan.
PeakingDuck
25th November 2009, 10:28 AM
The price on that has been as low as 16k and as high as 37.5k...
It ain't 100% without the gold stockers.
GTVAE86
25th November 2009, 10:44 AM
That is so ridiculous. It does not have all original parts and its just a normal trueno with special stickers.
Pay an extra $20,000 for just stickers and fancy badging? I do not think so.

I dont understand all the commosion regarding prices for hachis.
Its really fair considering its exclusivity, history in motorsport and overall presence in the automotive seen. I dont understand how people are saying such a rare model hachi isnt worth the asking price.
Its been involved deeply in motorsport, than Mazdas equivalent the RX 1,2,3,4 series. Yet demand a considerably lower price. Big aftermarket base and cult following world wide, adored by many.
Simply dumbfounded as how people come to the conlusion the of such a car being overpriced.

What a wank.
I reckon you'd be lucky to get one in Concourse condition sold for that much.
And how many AE86 fans cann afford that? And the ones that can afford that are too smart to buy it...

I think if you could find $30k+ you would just buy the new FT86. (Or MX-5 etc) Plus a mint GT-Apex for $8000 or whatever they cost now.
The Black Limited would be for people that don't have a lot of mechanical knowledge, don't want to thrash the car, but do want to go to car shows.

the reason why it is priced so high is because it has a flux capacitor installed.

There was a Black Limited 86 on here a year or 2 ago that someone was struggling to sell for like $6000, although it sounded like it was in pretty rough condition.
Surely if these were worth anything near that much money people would be modding their sprinters to look like this. It really doesn't seem like Black Limiteds are worth much more than normal truenos.

If I could afford it as a 2nd weekend car I'd buy it, Every day a hachi dies, if you kept it in this condition is would be very sort after in a few years. Providing it is all original and still has its original paint job........

The one at Carland for 1,600,000 isn't mint. it does have some rust holes etc. But that's not saying it isn't original.

just sort of looking through old threads and noticed in this pic its an auto and there is no way i would pay that much for a sprinter with that many fucking kms on it if it had maby 5000kms original maby consider paying that amount but as stated before would need to be a whole lot more stock

The Engine is listed as a: 4 cylinder Petrol Carburettor 1.6L (1587cc)
Then in the Comments it has ENGINE = 4AGE JDM.
I thought JDM 4AGE = Fuel injected..?
$34,500!!! Takumi Tax must have hit this AE86 hard...
To be honest, it is just a Corolla, $3000 - $4000 the MOST!

It's a euro kit (thinking German) Halsbeck or Haslbeck? No longer made...
Consisted of bolt-on front bumper extension (suits early and late) with holes/vents for square foglamps, side-skirts and rear pods/mud guards.
Mate here has one on his Corolla GT which came from Switzerland (not really a fan myself) Few more pics below Gaki.
