hey there

Sorry if the answer is on here somewhere. Ive looked heaps and googled alot.

I know some people think the idea is abit gay. But i would love a longer/normal front bumper on my ae71. I think it would look so mad with a front end closer to the ground. Im also thinking a 86 rear bar also....

Ive tryed to find pics on the net. This is all i can find...

My first question. The slack/cheap ass/ghetto way of sticking the 86 bar on...
If i remove the standard bar and cut abit out of the bottom of the fender. ( where the bar will overlap infront of the front wheel ) Will this work?

Does anyone have any idea if any mounts will line up ? No big if they dont. some cable ties might help ;)

Will it line up with the bottom of the slanty lights or will it not fit at all ?

Im also thinking of doing it properly....
I know i would need
ae86 front fender panels
ae86 Bonnet
ae86 lights
ae86 front bar...

Ive herd that the 86 quarter panels will need to be modded ? Anyone know how so ? Or if this is even do-able ?

thanks alot guys, also any pics you might have of such a thing would be greatly appreciated

if your doing to do a mismatched job as this use ae82 parts, they are almost identical to an ae86 and means your not wrecking something thats valuable. Also you dont need to cut that bit out of the gaurd, just trim the plastic of the bumper

alot better with just standard bar....i can see this working if body was made mroe phat...also not a show car colour...something more standard in the paint department would finish it off nice;)

What is wrong with kids these days?

Maybe if you didn't have 17's on the front and 13's on the back, the front would be lower. (Assuming that picture is yours)

if you serious about doing it. you could use fiberglass panels or metal if u got a welder and have some handy skills.
there's a bit more to it, then the ae71-ke70 flat front job. that can be done in a few hours or powering through a carton . ud have to cut the guards to match up with the 71 doors and "A" pillar.

so cut and shut the two guards together or use them handy skills, dolly & hammer time and metal form it.
probably have to work something out with the bonnet latch as well, ae86 rad support maybe?
I'm not sure if the bonnets are i direct bolt up job, so u might have to move hinges.
lots of planning, prefitting and measuring.

id just get the kouki (slanty/ugly) front and put an ae86 bar on it
the whole ae86 front end is worth more than a ke70 or ae71
cheaper to do quads

go for it, you couldn't possibly make an *e7* uglier than they already are.

Yeah fail

some kid wanted to do this a while ago on rollaclub.

AE86 front end is just too large and wrong shape to ever work on a KE70.

why not put your standard bar back on and attatch the bottem half of a celica bumper to the under side .

it not heaps lower but it cleans up that stupid looking bit under the front bumper.

Why not just make a cardboard bodykit? Like the Volvo on that TV ad.
Lightweight, custom, easy to remove if defected etc.....

Go for a Kouki Trueno halfcut, would look awesome, and you could charge more for it because its a kouki trueno. Well half anyway...

Or Zenki trueno front end with fog lights, then spray the car panda black on white...Just to be different
Just make sure its a auto ke70 with a rusty boot to start with, then you can mark it up 3,000,000% when you sell it.

As for modding the front to fit, angle grinder, welder, cable ties and about 10kg of bog will be your best friends.

lots of hate.....

i wanted to do this to my wagon back in the day,i still want to do it and maybe someday i will. def go for it if you think you could get the 1/4 panels and bonnet to line up. because the *E7*'s have that panle between the windscreen and the bonnet which wont line up either.

personaly i dont mind that orange one, probl cos its an 86 front lol but as said earlier an 82 front would be a better option, that gives me an idea with the shell i have out the back!! spuin we took an 82 to scrap steel the other week
