umm yeah .. dont get them . not good if you constantly changing wheels or require a quick pit stop, ie drifting .

they get threaded very easy.. rattle guns wear them out.. espiacilly cheap ones.

does sound like it's worth the high risk and hassle for such a trivial gain

as a general rule i would only use cheap nuts 3 times before i throw them away

wow that's a short service life. Why do you keep using them that being the case?

i dont keep using them but when i do thats how long i would use them for.

having said that even normal wheel nuts have a short lifespan. dont know if its from the rigures of drift but it seems that the first couple of threads always bash out

I see, I can't say I have ever had any deterioration on my wheel nut threads

Well, I am thinking of going to 19mm wheel nuts rather than 21mm, so I don't always have to use a spark plug socket (13/16" = 21mm) with the aftermarket wheels.

I may leave the alloy ones alone.

i stripped my bosses genuine porsche ones, just wheels coming on and off alot distortes the thread

dont use rattle gun on them

rattle guns... hmmm quick but for some reason u always need a piece of pole over the wheel brace to get the suckers off

most rattleguns are adjustable. or failing that you might be able to turn the air pressure down on the compressor depending on how good it is. I've never had a problem with using my rattle gun, but i turn mine right down and always do the last quarter turn or so with the wheel brace.

yeah ive never used one myself - but everytime i go to take them off after the car being at a tyre shop its out with the 4ft breaker bar to crack the nuts... i only do them up firm then just crack them tight. done.

yeah tyre places shouldn't be allowed to have rattle guns. I ALWAYS have trouble getting them off haha
