Hey just wondering if the 4age rwd/fwd and 4agze alternators are the same, as in the casing.

Just bought a inlet manifold side alt bracket and have a 4agze alt. But its not working out.

Cheers,
Steve

I am using a 20v alternator on a RWD setup and it all fits.

isnt the plug different ( oval ) on the 20 valve alt?

yes.

For the belt to line up, the brakets have to match the water pump pulley. So if you have the RWD brackets, you need the RWD pulley.

not one of the answers has answered his question yet.

and no, NA 4age alternators are not the same as 4agze alternators.
the housings 'bend' like a banana to fit in their mounts. if you put an NA 4age alternator (mounts on the intake side) up to a 4agze alternator (mounts on the exhaust side), you would find that they both 'banana' towards the engine from their respective positions to fit into their mounts.

i hope this answers your question OP.

yeah ze only works with ze.

but all other 4age alts are compatible. (ae82/ae86/ae101 20v and ae111 20v)
