Hi all!

Just a quick question

whats the usual oil and water temps you reach on track for circuit? with and without oil coolers

At the moment ive just got a stock 16v with a stock radiator im just using this for abit till my silvertop 20v is ready.

i would also like to know the ideal temps for water and oil for the 4age

whats the ideal temps?

ideal temp i believe is 80-85 degree .

i have seen my water temp reach about 100degree at oran park on a grip session . that was on a 4agte with twin core hyundai radiator .

Water boils at 100 degrees, and you don't want it to boil. Under pressure, the boiling point is raised. With coolant (not just water) the boiling point should be raised further. So with a good system 105 degrees may not worry it for a short while. But I would still aim for less than 100 degrees.

A typical thermostate is ment to open and close at 82 degrees. A 'sports' thermostate will open and close at 71 degrees.

Stock radiator/no oil cooler, I've seen temps reach 107water and 135oil at Malalla.

In the hills, 100water and 117oil isn't uncommon.
