Car - ae86

problem - i need bolt on hubs that will suit ae86 struts. basic question is, are there any other toyota hubs like the ae86 ones? so... corona? t18? ma61?

if someone can post pics up of any hubs that they have, that would be much appreciated.
thanks guys

using the template would help, what discs are you using?

i removed all irrelevant parts of the template.

the disks are 294mm mini coopers and i think that what disk im using is irrelevant as the question states: hubs to suit ae86 struts (apart from stock ae86 ones obviously) - which other toyota hubs fit?

AE86 is the smaller stubaxle so:
KP62, AE71, KE**, TA22 (early) all should fit.

what won't help you is XT130, MA61, RA28 and many others.

Hey heres an idea how about looking up the part number for the ae86 stock wheel bearings and see what other models have the same number, would be a good head start I think

just thought I would add as the tech mod here I don't have a problem with people not some of the template if it's not relevant.

Hachi: You are going to have to be careful that you get the same offset ie: that the face of the hub is the same measurement (in the same position) as the standard one otherwise it will not locate the disc in the same position thus rendering your new calliper adaptors usless!!

hmm interesting.
on toyodiy, the parts reference shows that the front hubs of both ke70's and ae86's use exactly the same bearings and what not. the only part number being different was that of the hubs.

If you check the links, you can see everything is the same bar the actual hub part numbers. ae86 being 43502-12070 and ke70 being 43502-12040.
so im not sure how it could be different if everything else is the same :/

these link are win..thanks man

the reson the hubs are diffrent sizes is becasue the ae86 has a bigger brake disc then the ke70. apart from that they are all the same as far as i can tell.

Nope, they are identical. I have two sets of struts here, i cant figure out which is which. I know one was from a KE70 and the other from an AE86....

Thats easy, one has a 40mm strut tube, this being the *e7* and the 86 tube being 50mm.

I think you'll find that KE70 hubs won't help you.

What toyodiy or any other EPC doesn't tell you is that anything related to the front struts is actually not Toyota parts on the Australian KE70's. Australian KE70's and AE71's run a shitty locally made strut and brake setup, being that they were infact manufactured in Australia.

The only exception to this rule is panel vans. Both KE70 and AE71 panel vans were built in Japan then shipped to Australia. Thus they have Toyota diffs and Toyota brakes. Same goes for T18's, made in Japan shipped to Australia.

AE71 panel vans run exactly the same struts & brakes as an ADM AE86
KE70 panel vans run a different type of strut and brake package
And the same for T18's, they run their own type again.

i will have to look up an AE71 wagon at the local wreckairs.
thank you!

Nope, both 50mm, possibly AE71 then... came out of a KE70 though.

I should have specified sorry, wagons wont help you either. They are Australian made as well. Its only the 3DR panel vans which were made in Japan.

Local KE/AE71's have different struts to AE86. Sure the bearings are the same but the stub axles is different.

Also takai - does 41mm compared to 51mm sound better?
