Hey guys,
Recently bought an F series with mounts changed over to suit ae86. Just wondering how the best way to go about handbrake cables. The tarago diff didnt come with cables but i have the ones from borg warner (ive got ae71). Having trouble removing the stock cables off the borg warner, didnt want to remove the end from the handbrake cable, but seems to be only way to remove from the drum? Been on google all morning trying to find info, no luck! Any info appreciated. Jake

to remove hand brake cables from a drum you have to push the individual pins in and hold them in.
As for adapting your cables, show pics of what it has to adapt to

slip an eight or ten mm ring spanner over the clip which holds the cable in the back of the drum. If you use the right size it holds all the clips in and you just pull on the cable and it all comes out.
I've seen a couple of people having trouble getting them out and this way makes it SO easy! I must have had a brain spasm or something when i was doing it cos it was the first way i tried and Im not normally that smart LOL

yeah its got to go right over the end of the entire cable if that makes sense and you'll need to tap the spanner down with a hammer or something. once all the clips are held in by the ring spanner you only have to pull the cable like 2 or 3mm out and then you can take the spanner off and it'll come out easy as.

thanks for idea, only took 2 min with 12mm ring spanner. doesnt look like its gonna fit into F series drum however, might just take to diff shop up the road. cable appears to be to short.
