ok so i has to questions that need to be answered.
i own an ADM AE86 with 4AC boat anchor.

1.swap rims over, my mate at campsie tyre place put on temp lug nuts.
i got the proper ones, but he rounded 2 nuts! the problem is that they are almost completely recessed in the rim.

i'm sure people have had rounded nuts before, so what methods have people used to remove rounded nuts.

2. My motor has started making a high pitched whistle, after it has been warmed up and driven for a couple minutes. this went for a week,
so i check me oil and it was below empty.
have topped up oil, but it still makes the same noise, just a little quieter.
is it possible i has done some damage to the motor?

if u have a welder handy weld some bits of rod on the nuts and bang em off. Ive split mine with a chisel before aswell

see if u can hammer an under sized old socket onto it

even better go back to the guy who rounded it and demand he fix it

how the fuck do you round off two wheel nuts?? this guy obviously shouldn't be allowed to use more than a wheel brace!!

alot of tyre shops have a tool to get them off
its like a socket with tiny little splines that move and grip onto the nut
so give your local tyre place and call and see if the have one and if they can take it off :)

it's irrelevant though it's the responsability of the tyre place then.

Either that or just get a socket and hit it on like mentioned above

take it back and let them deal with getting it off

or

smash a socket over it

or

get a chisel and bash it into the pattern then turn the chisel with a shifter

sure it isnt your timing belt loose or worn

bash a chisel onto the timing chain and weld it on there any good tyre shop should be able to remove it

timing belt has teeth so a) it doesn't slip unless its fucked and b) at that point your car stops working full stop.
Much more likely to be a loose fan belt or alternator belt. but then again i doubt its a belt cos it would do it when you fired it up and stop after a bit.

Take it to an exhaust place and ask them if they think its an exhaust leak

thanks for the replies fellas.

he is a bit of a dick! he has destroyed pretty much every car he has own.

-Eg Si wrote off, driving by himself on L's! ...dick
-his sisters Eg banged up ever panel! ..again dick
..i saved the ae86...which he pervious owned....
he bought it with moderate rust for 3400, i bought it stripped down off
him in poorish state for 600.

so besides that he is ok. haha

as for the sound from the motor, it isn't any belts as i have checked and tightened them.
the noise is a high pitched whistle....and it is coming from the motor.
and i am not sure...but think it is been amplified through the oil breather.
the noise only starts about 5mins after start up, when driving and the engine is warmest.

hope that desciption helps.

and as for the nuts i will have a go at them this weekend.

vac leak?

Ade_Mc

could be, but i am running a weber. so there aren't many vac lines.
i will check them.

check that the lines are blocked off that are ment to be.

i removed all the EG shit off of my motor when i put a weber on. its not needed and does nothing. i made up a small plate to permanatly blocked off the exhaust gas recirculation too altho it was long blocked up with carbon and gunk.

if you ran it with low oil it could have started to wear something causing the noice. i used to run my 4ac low on oil all the time, it loved it, dry sump ftw. is your water pump leaking out of the little hole in the housing? could be that.

do you have the timing cover fitted? could be just the normal operation noise of a old timing belt and you only just noticed it.
