im in the process of shopping for new shocks...
1. SW20 insert rearshocks for the ae86 fronts, is that correct?...anyone know part/stock number for these
2. and whats good for the rears to suit the low springs?...
im looking for best bang for buck in the KYB shocks, im trying to find out my options
and guys please its important if you could post the part/stock number to what you recommend too, would be nice...i am googling for the part/stock numbers as we speak, any help is welcome

no idea about hte fronts. not sure on the length etc.
but i just checked out the KYB website and found this
-----
Go Back a Step TOYOTA MR2
SW20, 2.0L Coupe
Excel-G Twin Tube Gas Shock
Front Fit Type Rear Fit Type
Left & Right 365099 365100
----
maybe someone can confirm that.
the kyb website is quite easy to use,
http://www.kyb.com.au/part.htm?http://www.kyb.com.au/PartFinder/shocks.php
youll have to look it up again though, as its a flash thing i cant like you to it properly.
but for the rear i have kyb 343113 (excel G), its a holden commondore wagon or something. good shocks, not the greatest, but they are only $70 each from repco/bursons. they are still holding up after a few years of normal driving.

there was a better article on the old forum, but this one is still good.
are you lowering the car? if so dont use standard 86 shocks for the rear, id go the 343113, my car is pretty low but not rediculosuly low and they work quite good, enough shock extension to work, but short enough to hold the springs in.

the 343113 is out of a VL commodore from memory. I've been running a pair in my ae71 for a year or so and they work well, had them in my ae86 before that. obviously you could get a better shock if you want to spend dollars but compared to the ae86 shock its a massive improvement!

sw20 would be fine for that height, ummm u needa modify ur struts to put them in though, or ask ajps if they got any spacers for them ? thats if ur going AGX i dont think u need to change anything if your going excel-G
