hey guys jsut got rid of my commodore and got a corona to drive as a daily, i wanna slam it but little unsure as a friend of mine reckons you use all these other bits and pieces like falcon springs in different struts or some shit,

so i jsut wanna so if there is a quick way to lower it, cant chop front springs because there bow shaped like a irs car, havnt had a look at the rear springs yet.

Quick way to lower it would be much appreciated.

thanks.

Edit: I am not serious about chopping the springs...It is stupid, dangerous, and highly detectable. Basic idea is new lowered springs, and NEW shocks to suit the reduced ride height. Your car has large(r) diameter strut bodies, so finding suitable aftermarket shocks should be easier than a KE70.

Hiyo.

So, if you have a 1981 Corona, you have an XT130 / XT131 / RT132 / RT133. Or a Corona of the *T13* chassis / generation.

You'll want lowered springs, with matching short-stroke shocks. You should be able to order springs off the shelf for it from a Toyota specialist supplier like AJPS or a mainstream supplier like Kingsprings.

Shocks you'll have to look to your Toyota specialist suppliers.

As far as your 'i can't chop the front springs' remark, you best get your eyes checked.

The *T13* uses a normal McPherson strut front suspension arrangement. Nothing special about it, nothing special about the spring. FUNDAMENTALLY the same as a KE70 / AE71 / AE86 / TE72 / TA22 / RA28 / nearly fucking every early Toyota. They share the same front / rear suspension arrangements (bar some having / not having panhard rods and rear swaybars).

Rear is a normal 5-link, coil springs. Off the shelf parts are available.

DO NOT TAKE THE CHEAP AND STUPID ROUTE OF CHOPPING THEM.
