hi guys ive justdone a 4 age conversion into my ae86 and the engine is running rich i thought it may be the map sensor getting a false reading cause i have a crack in the inlet manifold has any body struck this problem before?

So has the crack been repaired or is it still there? I'd suggest getting it fixed first if it hasn't.

Otherwise, what size fuel return did you use? If you used the 4mm carby one, then you will have high fuel pressure.

have u tried replacing the old wornout sensors such as water temp etc ?

first offdon't replace things that aren't broken.

do a ECU diagnostic check, you will need to hook up a check engine light. that will tell you what sensor is playing up.

what fuel system are you running? if your fuel pressure regulator cant handle your pump your fuel pressure will be too high = running rich.

What vac reading are you getting at idle? If your manifold has a crack in it - fix that first, stop trying to diagnose what else it might be. :)

thanks guys im in the process of fixing the manifold but i tend to think it is to do with fuel pressure im runing a external vl pump with the standard 4mm carby return line

how do you know its actually running rich?

what tests did you do to come to that conclusion?

Use the charcol canister 6mm line as your return and use the 4mm old return as your charcol canister line. Swap them again back to the 4mm return and 6mm vent at the tank end to avoid fuel filling up in the charcol canister.

I highlighted the last part as this is important.

Keen to know if the 4mm line would 100% make a 4age run rich with the stock
Fuel pressure reg.

Got flames coming outta the secondaries on my ke70 with a 4age. Will post vid later

Got code 11 from the ecu but that happens as soon as I connect the battery and not even start the car

I'm fairly sure I have 4mm hose to the fuel reg. Was running rich before hand though... Keen on this video!

Hahaha! I thought you meant out the back of the car! You would probably get some flame from headers but not that much!

Yeah it is running rich, will measure fuel pressure next weekend, then start to think about what the prob is... If i rev it to about 4k there is no flame, also no 02 sensor either yet.

The flames in my vid wouldn't be timing related would it?
