View Full Version : 5AGE 1.8l stroker bottom end. NEEDS WORK. Cheap

Hey guys,
Some of you will have been around long enough to remember this motor and my old car...
It's a 1.8l stroker bottom end. The crank is a custom type, maybe HKS, crank. It's NOT a 7A. The block has been machined to suit the crank, and from memory bored out to 82mm I think the pistons are.
It comes with ae111 black top 20v rods.
The pistons have been damaged due to an on track fuel pump failure. It will come with a set of ca18 pistons that need some machine work done to fit, but the old pistons will be provided as a guide for this.
This engine went very, very well. The car was very quick. It had a basic head with 256/264deg cams and a basic port and polish and made 100rwkw without being tuned. Sounded fantastic, good torque.
Selling very cheap a) Because I'm currently unemployed and need cash b) I know longer have a hachi roku and c) my next hachi roku is likely to be turbo.
With a bit of work this thing will be perfect for someone wanting a genuinely quick N/A car....
Engine located in Brisbane.
$500

Sorry buddy, $500 posted won't be enough. Postage won't be cheap. Plus the engine is not apart at the moment.
Will find a pic of the crank though if you like.

Have you clarified what make of "Crank" it is that you have?

As said, it is beleived to be HKS, but not sure. Are you interested in the engine?

Really need to move this ASAP. REASONABLE offers considered.

all HKS cranks have "HKS" cast into them...

when i was interested sometime ago, i was fairly confident that the engine was built by rs-yasu...

they are quite well known for building stroked 16v's with ca18 pistons...

I'm pretty sure you are right with the RS Yasu man. I can't remember for sure, becuase it was a while ago that I looked into. But I'm pretty sure you're right.

Thanks mate. I stand to lose too much if I accept $500 posted. This stuff won't be cheap to post. And it's not something that you just find lieing around in someones garage.

$600 for the whole lot freighted to Tas??

LordNafe

perhaps without the block. Freighting with the block included would cost a bit too much. Probably willing to remove the crank now....

Can you run it off a normal 4age ecu? Or do you need an aftermarket computer?

LordNafe

I wouldn't run it on a stock ecu. It's a larger capacity and higher compression, so needs more fuel than a stock ecu would deliver. it will obviously start and run on a stock ecu, but I wouldn't give it any stick with one.
