CAR - aw11 MR2
MOTOR - 4age
USE - daily at the moment
PROBLEM/QUESTION - car is leaking brake fluid from the clutch resivour
OCCURS/STARTED WHEN - just randomly
PERSONAL SITUATION - prefere to repair it cheaply lol

basically the car leaks fluid from the clutch resivour. needs to be topped up like twice per day lol.
for a short time, the clutch pedal will go flat to the floor sometimes even when its full of fluid, then after much pumping, it empties the resivour a bit, i add in more fluid, then its fine (till the next day)... air in the lines ?

any idea what this could be ? and why its leaking ?

thanks guys, much appreciated

seals gone? - is it leaking inside the car - on the inside of the firewall? if it is the seals gone
how much is a clutch master - $50?

The clutch master cylinder is leaking, seals have probably gone hard. PBR catalogue says there No Longer Available, but they show a rebuild kit.

ACTUATION Clutch M/Cyl 10/1987 - 02/1990 COUPE, 1.6 LITRE
P/N = JB1779#(NLA)

ACTUATION Kit-C M/Cyl (Min) 10/1987 - 02/1990 COUPE, 1.6 LITRE, 15.87 mm
P/N = K7590X

if the mc is stuffed you will have fluid going down the inside/outside of your firewall, It is possable (but not likely) for it to leak out the reservoir or the solid line fitting. Otherwise check the other end for a leaking slave cyl.

i would be looking at the slave cyl first..

are you seeing alot of fluid dripping off the gearbox? check under the car and in the engine bay (on the bellhousing) to see if there is fluid leaking there.

you should be able to see the slave from in the engine bay if its similar to an ae82
