nah didn't strip it. seems i just had the wrong thread on the oil filter. i only went through 20 different filters at the shop and found that one Z160 from memory. seems the threads are a little bit different, just a touch. lucky it was fresh clean oil tho would have ruined my white engine bay.

What does the thread look like where the oil filter spins on? does the top of the thread come up to a nicely pointed crest or is it sort of flat at the top like the bar they machined it from was undersized? Do you have access to a set of thread gauges? The thread on mine is a M20x1.5 and my universal filter kit that came from just jap had another fitting to suit a different thread that I think from memory was an imperial one.

dont have thread gauge set. when to sprints and the guys there tested almost every filter they had. found one that fit farken sweet but it was MASSIVE!
but we found one that was tighter but only just a touch. i'm going to try it and well see what happens.
as for the little threaded bit it looks to be machined to a point. id say the bar they where using was far to small tho.

no wuckers. would have never thought that a re-locator could be so troublesome.
