They are a big step up in strength, so you should be fine for diffs for a while.

I wouldn't bother with any of the OEM lsd's, they're not that good. In the aftermarket there are many types available, all the usual japanese brands - TRD, kaaz, cusco, tomei etc as well as trutrac and detroit from the states. I would personally get a TRD 41301-RA010.

go the trd. pretty cheap too.
newer hilux are the same. ma61 are the same. or you can get a standard altezza lsd. but pretty pricey.

trd centre is 1400$.this is out of reach. can u buy this shit 2nd hand? all signs are telling me im going to end up with a lsg(locked side gears)would much rather not having a locker on the street.

can be had for a lots less than 1400. shop around.

anyway lsd's cost in general for anything decent. no matter which diff you have. this isnt a problem unique to F series :)

41301-RA010 ALTEZZA
Toyota Altezza SXE-GXE10 98.10- 3S-GE,1G-FE
AU $ 1,001.72
+ shipping.
Cusco is $1230

Expensive but so happy I got a cusco. I am disappointed with my kaaz.

Anyone ever have problems with F-series axles being loose/having play in cusco LSD's?

Options (most of which are mentioned above)
- MA61 factory LSD (generally old and flogged, and not that great even when fresh)
- Altezza LSD (either factory, TRD, Tomei, Kaaz, Cusco etc)
- Trutrac from the states (some Hiluxs came with F series front diffs, so there's some support from the 4WD crowd)
- Welder
