the actual globes are either sealed or semi sealed items

sealed being they got a built in bulb, semi sealed being they hold a standard H4 bulb.

the lights are standard 6" items available through hella, supercheap stock them or autobahn. any decent shop.

you need to define "lights"

here is an example

u can pay as much or as little as suits your budget really.

i got a pair of narva h4 semi sealed items which cost me 120 (very good quality lights) and some 90/100w h4 bulbs.
and then for ultra high beam i got a pair of air craft landing lights (150watt sealed beams) for 60 the pair.again fairly good quality items.

i can see africa when i turn my high beams on.

yeah there was a bit of midification, just spliced in a new relay for the inside lights to only come on when i flick the high beam on. im not all that down with wiring (im shit at electrics) so basicly i owe all the help to matt. but if u have a clue about wiring and lights n shit im sure u would be able to figure it out.

yeah u can always be a stinge and get supercheap h4 replacements, but i doubt the lenses/mirror would be too efficient. say no to generic. mind u it would only cost about 30 bucks all up lol

im pretty sure u want 5 inch light.. i could be wrong.. but from memory they are 5inch or 125mm and look on the lense on the edge it willl have 2 or 3 indents in the glass which need to be there to mate with the chrome rings that hold them in.. i also noticed when i had a look at the cheaper ones they didnt have those indents in the endge of the glass so im unsure how well they sit in there..

the light shown in the picture is what u buy. u buy that then u put whateva watt globe u want in it.

the lights in that picture are actually a sealed beam unit :hehe:
and the clear glass on the lense is illegal unless used as a spotlight only.
i use the clear glass lenses as highbeam only (which is still illegal) but how are they going to know.

corknose
2nd February 2009, 07:58 PM
yeh its not like they are gunna be like"ahh sir can i ask u to please remove your headlights from my police car i could clearly see that they were sealed lights and that is illegal"

should be able to get away with it:hehe::hehe:

todd

sealed beams are perfectly legal.
the clear glass on the lense however is not, unless of course it is a projector headlight of which doesnt really apply to us.
