Car - hachi-mongoloid

motor - 20v

use - drift

problem - not really a problem

occurs/started when - hasnt started or occured yet

personal situation - well, i have a cusco 1way LSD*, what i would like to know is if it is possible to modify the "locking pin and its surroundings" (where you can see whether its a 1 or 2 way) ie: filing or grinding to make it lock under both accel and decel. my only worry is that it would become stupidly loud

anyone tried something similar or heard of something that could help me out.

*i also have a 2way, so dont bother posting: "just buy a 2way"

cheers.

Filip.

see if Cusco sell the pressure rings and pinion shaft as spare parts.

2 x pressure rings
1 x pinion shaft

half way down this page, there is a comparison of 1way and 2way, only difference is the diamond cut out, im thinking grinding the 1way "cut out" and hopefully getting 2way success!

Man up or just turn the stereo up lol

It shouldn't be any louder then a factory two way, should it?

it has come to my understanding that cusco lsd's are adjustable. meaning that you can pull apart the centre and adjust it from 1way to 2way*.
quite a clever design yet simple too.

in my case, all i would need to do is flip the pinion shaft to face the opposite way so turn it 180 degrees.

SICK!

and yay for no need for butchering.

*as for it becoming a 2way, due to the cut outs in the pressure rings, im not quite sure it could ever be 100% 2way, amybe 1.75way haha.

but once i take get it in and take it for a spin i will update.

peace.

Depends when diff was made. They only started doing that a few years ago. Any older and you're stuck with the one way. Then you do what Frak suggested.

I know Nismo have pressure rings like hachi_dk is talking about, you take it apart and reposition the pinion shaft in the pressure rings, I think it's an excellent feature. I have a TRD so, if I wanted to change I'd have to buy pressure rings etc. oh here's a graphic I found on the Kazz/Cusco site(can't remember)

yer i'll see when i open her up skylar, doesnt look old or very used so fingers crossed.

thats off the cusco website btw frak.
from what i can tell in the 1way image, if i was to spin the pinion shaft 180 degrees it would sit as it does in the image of the 1.5way and then im set.
