Hey not sure if this really qualifies as a tech question, but I just need help identifying this diff. Was told it was a T-series when i bought it, its not from an 86 cause the mounts dont match up to my S-series at all.

So if someone can tell me what it is, and if its usable in my 86 (what would need to be done) would be really appreciated.

Cheers

I cant figure out this dam uploader, so Its at the photobucket link below...

There should be a second picture there (next button, at top) that shows the front more, or do u want a lower down picture??

Cheers

Don't bother putting it in unless you plan on putting different ratio's in it.

In other words, don't just put it in for the sake of it being a T series - theres no real advantage. I ran a locked s series for 2 years with massive abuse and not one breakage!

Yeah I plan on getting a 2 way lsd if its a t series. Dont really want a locker in street car.

looks like a series 2 T18 or ra40 diff to me. Count how many bolts/nuts are holding the pinion on and also measure flange to flange (outside of drums)

How wide is it? Drums look big,
mounts don't line up... Might be an F diff
