Car - ke70

motor - 4age

problem - clutch line clearance between exhaust manifold?

occurs/started when - fitting engine

personal situation - dropped the 4a in yesterday and dummied up the exhaust manifold and found a problem due to clearance between manifold and clutch line going to slave(as seen in pics). removed the rubber line and made fit the best i could without fucking up the line too much.

is this enough clearance?
will the fluid heat up and thin/cook?

cheers :)

i bought a braided clutch line with banjo fitting off sam-q, and it gives much more clearance. if you dont wanna fork out the coin for the braided line, just heatwrap the secondaries, should help a bit i guess

keimeier watch out for not only the heat but work hardening

You need something flexible in your clutch line from body to box as your engine moves around a surprising amount in use. Rubber or braided. I got a banjo and rubber line made up at a brake place for not much.

every time you bend a normal grade peice of metal it hardens, This in due time wil harden to the point where it will not be able to flex anymore and it will crack open. Ie: bend too many times till it snaps. Being on an engine you should be able to get away for it for alittle while but not forever.
