Hi all, I bought a set of Work Equips on here the other week for my KE20 panno... they're 6 up front 7 at back with a low positive offset and 195s.
As my panno is fitted with KE30 axles and R31 struts the rear rims protrude about an inch front and rear which is what i want... but due to their widths (narrow) the tyres aren't stretched enough to pull under the lips and i don't want to flare them out TOO much...
My question... If i purchase another set of Equips with offset fail can i split them and use their wide inners with my decent outers to make my rims like, 8's and 9's or something?
Any other suggestions will be taken on board.....
Not sure if you can cut and widen rims???

not as easy as it sounds, recommend you give them to a shop. wouldnt want to hear that your inner or outers flying out when your driving. they are work equips and it is your life:)

a cheaper option would be to get a smaller tyre fitted?

i dont really understand what your saying..

you have ke20 pano.. and you have equips which are 6" wide and another pair 7" wide? both with +ve offsets?

these rims protrude about 1' from the guard.. correct?

why is it your thinking of going even wider " 8" or 9"s " to correct this?

If your 6" wide wheel is poking already then and 8 or a nine will poke another 2 - 3 inches depending on offset.

Your on track with them being a 2 piece but what will swapping inner and outer achieve? u
you need more +ve offset to get the wheels under the stock guards.. thats it, nothing else will help you unless u want to start changing your suspension and dif setup?

the alternative is to flair or get bolt on flairs.

My equips are not seperatable, although they are bolted around the circumference the 3 pieces are actually welded together... Therefore could not be adjusted in the method you describe. (check yours though, maybe they are different)

Wheel Offset Calculator (http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetCalculator.asp)

Use that to determine what offset wheels in a wider width you will need to make them sit in the guards. My guess...Very positive offset.

head over to rollaclub and talk to a guy called "mungi mods"

http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showuser=4482

he mods wheels, mix and match's wheel halves. orders wheel halves from japan and gets them machined.

and he has a kick ass panel van!

By fitting wider inner rim halves they would essentially get a more positive offset, and retain the current amount of dish.
Then when the tyre stretched it would pull in more and tuck under my wheel arch. Flares are not an option as my van almost tucks rim, if i fit flares instead of remedying my wheel problems i'll have to cut my quarters and i refuse to chop up a KE26 panno.
I don't really want to run 175s because they look poxy, but i may resort to it....
They only just hang out too much... if i can't split the rims, like Roberto is saying (and which i've experienced with SSR's before) i guess i'll have to consider selling them and buying another set... It just shits me cos i've wanted a set for so long and this set is so good.

your trippin dude, if he changed the inner its not going to effect where his outer sits.

yeah exactly right it would do exactly as what he's saying and pull the tyre further in, however, then you have to look at whether the rim will clear the struts in the front as they might scrub, best off breaking out the guard roller and getting either a 186 or 175

I never said it did. i actually thort he was refering to the center mounting face, so disregard
